SALSA CONTEST RULES

• Any Taos County resident is eligible to enter. Only one entry per participant in each category.

• All entries must be registered between 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2007.

• Judging will begin promptly at 1:30 p.m.

• All entries must be made by the participant. Recipe must be original with no use of commercially prepared salsa.

• Participants must bring a minimum of 1 quart of salsa completely prepared and a serving dish.

• Participants must have their recipes printed on a 5" x 7" card and answer any questions the judges may have.

• Recipes may be released for use and publication with the Taos County Fair Salsa Contest.

• A panel of Judges will judge specific categories. The Best Overall Salsa will be selected by the people.

• Chips will be provided for taste testing.

• Decisions of the judges will be final.

• When judging is completed the public will be asked to participate in the “Best Overall Taos Salsa.”

• Public votes shall be cast by paying $1.00 to taste all of the salsas and thus allowing for one (1) vote. Public may vote as many times as they wish to pay for.

SALSA CONTEST Categories will include Judges' Choice as follows:

• Best local entry.

• Amateur Category

• Professional Category

• Youth Category (Under 18 years of age)

•Contest will also include Peoples' Choice for " Best Overall Salsa".
