Cake Walk

Superintendent: Denise Martinez

The Cake Walk is an activity that benefits the Taos County 4-H Council. Although this event takes place during the annual Taos County Fair, the proceeds benefit the Taos County 4-H Program. The monies raised from this Cake Walk go to fund Day Camps, Out of County trips, leadership programs and our annual 4-H Council Awards Program.

All cakes donated to the Cake Walk are made by 4-H Club members or volunteers and each is a HOMEMADE CAKE. Many are specially decorated and each is guaranteed delicious.

The Cake Walk is a simple game wherein there are 20 squares on a large square, each participant pays fifty cents, selects a square to start from, and then the music begins. While the music is playing, participants move in a counter-clockwise motion from square to square until the music stops. While everyone is standing on the square where they stopped, a number is drawn and the person standing on the square with the corresponding number wins the cake!

It is fun! It is Simple! And, it is for a great cause!
